Speech / Articulation Support
Many children have speech sound errors, speech which may sound different from their peers, and/or speech which may be difficult for listeners to understand.

As children grow older and practice using speech and language, they usually have more clear sounds and more understandable speech. A speech sound assessment will help identify which sounds or patterns your child is using and which are challenging. Then these may be compared with what one would expect for a child of the same age. If it is found that your child has speech difficulties that should have been mastered by their age, speech therapy would likely be recommended.

Some children have noticeable stutters, differences in voice quality, and/or nasal-sounding voices. These speech areas may be assessed and treated as well.

Speech therapy often includes parent training, direct practice activities, and strategies to use at home or at school on a daily basis. Daily practice of speech activities with an adult has been shown to make a significant difference in how well and quickly a child may improve speech skills.
